Kat Vogart Lessons

Sketching

During todays lesson with Kat, she shown us a copy of images which had be sketched using pencils. In our previous lesson and via email Kat told us to bring in a A3 sketch pad and 12 sketching pencils 6b-4h.
First Kat shown us some objects which we will find easy and useful to our work. Secondly we was told to draw lines down our page without using a ruler. This helped me a lot as i find eyeliner is a disadvantage in my work as well as lips.
For the next 10-15 minutes we was continuously sketching lines, using different pencils to determine different shades of lines.

We was shown us shapes, such as ovals, squares, circles, and triangles. For another 15-20 minutes we drew out each shape numerous of times throughout our sketchbook pages.Making sure we was getting better each time and realising our mistakes.

After, Kat shown us the shapes in flat form she then shown us them in 3D and gave us to opportunity to chose one and sketch it, you could drawn more than one if you wanted to.

This lesson did help me a lot with my shadings and lines, and will help me out in future with holding my brush while creating my perfect look.

Monochromatic image.

During our last lesson with Kat we was expected to do face charts showing Achromatic,Chromatic and monochromatic colours and show two of those a model as home work. Below show images of work i created in the lesson, this was also a taster for my Photoshoot the following day.

Extreme Contouring.

Second Lesson-Face Charts

During our second lesson with Kat she shown the group various of videos of people creating face charts, face charts are used by selection of make up artists and designers, this gives the make up artist a vision of what they want the model to eventually look like. Leader make up artist also tend to do these to be able to show how they want their assistants to apply the make up.

Second Lesson - Colour Theory

During our second lesson she shown us a powerpoint explaining colour theory, this is what i got out of my notes.
 In 1666 Sir Issaac Newton created the first circular colour diagram.

Colour theory = body practical guidance to colour mixing and visual effects.
Colour scheme = Choice of colours used in a design for range of media colour schemes, create style and appeal.

colour wheel or colour circle is an abstract illustrative organization of colour hues around a circle that shows relationships between primary colourssecondary colors, tertiary colours etc.

The video below shows Robert Jones explaining the "make-Up Colour Theory"

Analogous colours = 1+2 neighbours of the colour.

Complementary= opposite colour

Achromatic = Neutral colours

Black, white,grey and brown nude

Chromatic = An actual colour

Monochromatic = Shades of one colour

Colour content = how the colour behaves in relation to other colours and shapes.

Colour harmony = pleasing to the eye, A balance in the visual experience, inner sense of order.
